How To Fill Out Landlord & Tenant Board FOrms. Tips and Tricks to Avoid Costly Mistakes
February 20, 2008
8:30a.m.-11:00a.m.
FRPO's Office, 20 Upjohn Road, Awards Hall, North York ON M3B 2V9
Presented by Jane Ferguson, Barrister & Solicitor, LLP

The RTA has given us all new forms to fill out. A correctly completed Notice of Termination is the first mandatory step in obtaining an eviction for most infractions of the RTA. An incorrectly completed Notice can result in being unable to lead valuable evidence that would help ensure success, having your application being dismissed, your $150 filing fee being lost, and precious time and money being lost because you have to start all over again. Or, you might also succeed before the Board and then lose on appeal because of a poorly drafted notice despite having had a great case! An incorrectly completed notice or application can also result in being unable to obtain a termination order at the hearing, or being unable to obtain an order for the full amount owing. This seminar will show you, step by step, how to fill out the most common notices of termination (including the N4, N5, N6 & N8), applications (L1 & L2), help you decide if you should proceed by way of an L1 application (money and termination) or L9 application (money only) and provide precedents to help you with real life situations. This seminar is a must for all those in property management who prepare notices and applications for evictions. For further information, please contact FRPO at 416-.385.1100x22 or alternatively by email at cbentley@frpo.org.
