FRPO Spring Social

FRPO and CMHC invite all FRPO members to join us following Springfest for the annual Spring Social. This complimentary event will take place at the Badali Bar & Cucina and includes cocktails, appetizers and is an excellent networking opportunity. 2018 Spring Hope Food Drive

The 19th Annual Spring Hope Food drive will be held on Tuesday, April 17th across the province. This is an excellent opportunity for housing providers and residents to work together to help those less fortunate in our communities. Various landlord associations will be coordinating the food drive efforts including FRPO, GTAA, EOLO, LPMA and HDAA. FRPO is currently reaching out to past participants to confirm building lists. If you have not participated in the past and wish to do so, please contact Chloe Hill at 416.385.1100 ext. 30 or events@frpo.org.

2018 Residential Tenancies Act Seminars

FRPO will once again hold the ever popular Residential Tenancies Act seminars throughout April and May. Over the past year, there have been many changes in our industry. This year’s seminar’s will focus on legislative changes and their impact on your operations, new rules at the Landlord Tenant Board as well as a review of recent precedent setting LTB and Divisional Court Cases. Topic highlights include an update on the new prescribed lease forms, landlord’s own use changes, employment issues, condo act changes, collecting damages on consent orders, illegal charges, AGI changes, services & facilities as well as cannabis use and restriction. We are pleased to announce the Landlord Tenant Board staff will also present at each seminar providing attendees updates on procedures and pilot programs. All seminars are presented by legal experts and each attendee is provided a booklet with all materials. These events are ideal for site staff, leasing agents, property managers, owners and senior management. These events will sell out, we encourage you to register early.

CFAA Rental Housing Conference

The Canadian Federation of Apartment Associations invites you to attend Rental Housing Conference 2018 in Vancouver from Monday, May 14, to Wednesday, May 16. CFAA-RHC 2018 will be held at the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel situated in the heart of Vancouver’s central business district, and only a few minutes walk away from the Seawall, Stanley Park and Canada Place.

CFAA-RHC is the perfect event for both education and connecting or reconnecting with colleagues in the rental housing industry from across Canada.

2018 MAC Awards Gala

The MAC Awards Gala is the most important annual event for our members and is well attended by rental housing providers ranging from hands-on managers to third party management and holding companies. This event allows us to recognize excellence in the residential rental housing industry and to advance the high standards that the Federation of Rental-housing Providers of Ontario aims to promote. This year’s gala will be held on Thursday, November 39th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in conjunction with PM Expo and the Building Show. The Buildings Show 2018
